PP Arnold, born Patricia Ann Cole in 1946, is a trailblazing soul singer whose career spans over five decades. Originally from Los Angeles, California, Arnold began her musical journey singing in church choirs before catching the attention of Ike and Tina Turner in the mid-1960s. Joining their ensemble as a backing vocalist, she toured internationally and honed her craft on stages across the globe.

In 1967, PP Arnold ventured into a solo career, releasing her debut single “The First Cut Is the Deepest,” which became an instant classic and solidified her status as a rising star. This was followed by a string of hits including “Angel of the Morning” and “If You Think You’re Groovy,” which showcased her remarkable vocal range and emotional depth.

Throughout her career, PP Arnold collaborated with iconic artists such as The Rolling Stones, Small Faces, and The Beatles, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. Beyond her chart-topping success, she broke racial barriers and paved the way for future generations of musicians, earning her a place in the pantheon of soul music legends.
