The Way-Back Music Machine Radio Hour Ep. 88

Here we are, on road trip number 88 for the Way-Back Music Machine. This week on the Way Back Music Machine Radio Hour, we look at an interesting week, a mixed bag of diverse artists and music and we have a lot of fun. Kicking off the week on Sunday, we celebrate the birthday of one of Canada’s best known bands, The Barenaked Ladies and we look at Motown’s first million seller. Monday, we look at Dire Straits recording their debut album. On Tuesday, we celebrate another birthday, Rob Thomas and we visit Leeds University for a special concert by The Who. Mid-week Wednesday we look at the fun and popular “Uptown Funk” by producer and DJ Mark Ronson. He, of course is famous for producing Amy Winehouse’s classic album, Back To Black. On Thursday, it is Birthday time again, this time the brilliant Otis Blackwell. You may not know the name, but you will know his songs. We also salute Bruce Springsteen who has his first number one album in the U.K. Friday, we look in as Kate Bush releases her debut album and makes some new records as well. And on Saturday we wish Yoko Ono a very Happy Birthday and discuss the song “Good Vibrations”. Of course, there are eight days a week and on the eighth day we look at two albums that make it to number one a few years apart. All that plus music, chart talk and two friends enjoy a good conversation. Episode 88 of The Way-Back Music Machine Radio Hour.
