On the next Rules Free Radio with Steve Caplan, we’ll hear new music by Annie Taylor, Spygenius, Tamar Berk, Andrea Gillis, Tess Parks, Grant-Lee Phillips, and Craig Finn. Classics include The Left Banke, Chris Isaak, The Flamin’ Groovies, Cheap Trick, The Hooters, T-Bone Burnett, Willie Nile, R.E.M., and others. Bob Dylan turned 81 on May 24 and at the top of the second hour, we’ll hear some of his music as done by a bunch of artists doing versions of his songs that you may not have heard before. We might even toss in a tune or two by Bob! Also in the second hour, we’re going to spotlight a new release by Mavis Staples and Levon Helm of music that was recorded live in June 2011. And the last week or so has seen the passing of a number of people, including Andy Fletcher, the keyboardist for Depeche Mode, and we’ll start the third hour with their music as a tribute to him.
