Thursday Alex Green of Stereo Embers : The Podcast interviews Cathal Coughlan co-founder and singer of acclaimed 80s/90sgroups Microdisney and Fatima Mansions, and widely considered to be one of Ireland’s most revered singer/songwriters, beloved by fans of caustic literate lyricism and erudite songcraft. Since the demise of Fatima Mansions in the mid-90s he’s released five acclaimed solo albums, taken part in an array of different collaborations, made numerous guest appearances, and along with his Microdisney bandmates was the first recipient in 2019 of Ireland’s National Concert Hall Trailblazer Award, which celebrates culturally important albums by iconic Irish musicians, songwriters and composers (1985’s The Clock Comes Down The Stairs). HIS new single ‘Owl In The Parlour’, his first new music in ten years and the second single from the forthcoming album ’Song Of Co-Aklan’.

Friday Alex Green of Stereo Embers : The Podcast interviews from Sacramento, California,  shoegaze band The Fleeting Joys  Their sound is influenced heavily by classic shoegazers My Bloody Valentine , to whom they are often compared. Their sound incorporates complex layers of feedback and sound and an often subdued combination of male and female vocals.
