“La movida” was an explosion of Spanish rock groups influenced by the new wave, all had their minute of glory and left ingenious and unforgettable songs. There were mixed styles such as post-punk, techno, power pop, rock ‘n’ roll, sophisti-pop. In the early eighties the city of Madrid was the engine, but soon other cities in Spain joined too.
